Recently, the RCS High School Music Department inducted their 22-23 inductees into the Tri-M Music Honor Society during the first concert of the 22-23 school year, the 2022 High School Band and Chorus Fall Concert. This prestigious distinction is awarded to students who demonstrate hard work and dedication to music, music education, and our community. The senior student members of the RCS Tri-M Music Honor Society Chapter conducted the ceremony and formally inducted the new members.
Established in the fall of 2017, RCS students must apply and meet a list of criteria to be accepted into the Tri-M Music Honor Society. This criteria includes meeting community service, music performance, and academic requirements, as well as demonstrating the society's pillars of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
“The Tri-M Music Honor Society provides opportunities for participation, collaboration, and leadership for students within their community to support music education and advocacy,” said K-12 Music and Art Curriculum Content Specialist and High School Choral Director Michelle McLoughlin. “We are so proud to welcome these students to Tri-M. They have all demonstrated their strong musical commitment and will well represent the RCS Music Department in the greater community.”
