The RCS High School held its 66th Annual Commencement Exercise to celebrate the Class of 2022 on Friday, June 24, at the Empire State Convention Center.
The commencement ceremony provided traditional highlights, including the processional of seniors into the ceremony, reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance, the singing of the Star-Spangled Banner, performances from the senior chorus members and graduation band, recognition of the Class of 2022 Top Ten, and the presentation of diplomas to this year’s graduates. The ceremony also included a speech from Superintendent Bailey and Principal Lisa Patierne, as well as speeches from Valedictorian Mollie McFerran and Salutatorian Madeline Dewsbury.
This year’s graduates left their mark on RCS in a big way. Whether it was on the athletic field, in the classroom, in community efforts, or in one of the many Career and Technical opportunities, they blazed a trail to success, fulfilling the district's values of inquiry, collaboration, risk-taking, participation, empathy, and community!
“Words cannot express how incredibly proud I am of the Class of 2022,” said High School Principal Lisa Patierne. “Our students are full of grit, perseverance, kindness, care, determination, and knowledge – they have worked incredibly hard and done a phenomenal job representing the district and themselves. We know they are going to do amazing, interesting, and transformative things with their future, and we cannot wait to follow their journey!”
Congratulations to the Class of 2022! You will be missed!
