Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District Board of Education adopted a $51,256,929 budget for the 2022-23 school year at the Wednesday, April 6 meeting. This spending plan aligns with the district’s goals of providing quality instructional programs that include career exploration and student enrichment opportunities to help support the creation of well-rounded members of our community. The budget also includes three referendums, one for our ongoing transportation replacement plan, another for capital improvements on our school campuses, and finally, an increase to the repair reserve.
Although the budget proposal includes a 5.39% spending increase over the current school year, the district tax levy will increase by only 2.00%. As a reminder, the tax levy increase was 0% for the school district for the past two years. Within this budget proposal, it is estimated that the average RCS property owner would pay an additional $54.21 to $82.13 per year in school taxes, based on a home valued at $150,000. This estimate is dependent on the municipality in which the taxpayer resides and the final assessments and equalization rates will be available in August.
On Tuesday, May 17, the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk community will be asked to vote on the budget, additional referendums, and elect three members of the Board of Education. To learn more about the RCS CSD 2022-23 school year budget, please click here.
