Ravena, New York – The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District has announced the successful completion of negotiations with the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Teachers Association for a new collective bargaining agreement.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian Bailey said that one priority of these negotiations was “establishing salaries that will attract and maintain staff that work tirelessly on behalf of the children in our care.” He continued by stating “the needs of our students continue to evolve and portions of this agreement will help us adapt as we seek to provide the best opportunities for students to be successful after graduation.”
The President of the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Teachers Association, Matt Miller, expressed similar sentiments, stating “although the process of negotiations for this contract was somewhat prolonged, we made important initial steps towards achieving our ultimate goal of creating a competitive salary schedule and we are pleased the RCS administration and Board of Education are willing to work with us to continue these efforts moving forward."
The parties’ new collective bargaining agreement will remain in effect from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2023.
