During the weekend of February 12 and 13, the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Middle School Science Olympiad team took their talents and knowledge to the Regional Science Olympiad competition at Goff Middle School. This year’s team faced off against nine teams from throughout the region, competing and displaying their skill sets in understanding the principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). This group of sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth grade students placed third overall in this year's competition.
“The success of our students in this competition is a true testament to their dedication in the classroom,” said Science Olympiad Coach and seventh and eighth grade Science Teacher Jennifer Fisk-Jaskolka. “STEM is an important program that not only provides access to specific disciplines but allows students to have hands-on opportunities to experience learning in a fun and engaging environment. We are proud of how they represented our district while competing with their regional peers.”
