On Saturday, February 5, 2022, the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School Science Olympiad team competed in the Regional Science Olympiad competition, which was held on the Ballston Spa High School campus. They competed against 16 other teams in 25 events of science knowledge and engineering tasks. The event consists of topics across the STEM field including topics such as biology, coding, astronomy, and anatomy.
While they did not advance to the State competition, RCS finished a very respectable 8th place while competing against many other larger schools from the Capital Region. The Science Olympiad team brought great pride to the district, working hard to showcase their knowledge and skillsets developed in the classroom.
The eleven students on this year's team took home a total of 15 medals overall and placed in seven different events.
