Colleen Agostinoni, the current Assistant Director of Student Support Services, was appointed by the Board of Education on Wednesday, September 2nd as the new Director of Student Support Services. She will start the position in November after Ann Jackson, our current director, retires.
Ms. Agostinoni has worked for the district for over six years. Before becoming Assistant Director, she was a CSE Chairperson and an elementary school teacher at A.W. Becker. She has experience in a myriad of educational settings as she has taught in both general and special education classes. She has also worked in private, public, and out-of-district settings with students of all ages, giving her a diverse skill set to assist our families.
Raised in Troy, she now lives in Vooreshville and enjoys spending her free time cooking and being with her two children, husband, and dog, Duke. Ms. Agostinoni is ready for the new year saying, “Every school year is a new opportunity. Everyone has had their struggles through the pandemic, however, we have learned valuable lessons that I believe will set a new standard for adaptable learning systems geared towards better meeting the needs of all of our families.”
“We are very pleased to have Ms. Agostinoni as our new Director of Student Support Services,” superintendent Dr. Brian Bailey said. “Her vast experience in so many aspects of education has made her the perfect candidate to take on Ms. Jackson’s position upon her retirement. We are confident she will make this a smooth transition for our entire community.”
When asked what she values most about RCS, she said, “Hands down, my favorite part of the school district is the community, the inspiring and talented staff, great families, supportive leadership, and responsive Board of Education.”
