This week all RCS schools have been taking some time to remember those who lost their lives 20 years ago in the 9/11 terrorist attacks on The United States of America. Our community, like many others, continues to remember the events of that day; the shock, loss, and horror we felt and continue to experience will never be forgotten. RCS knows it is important as a community to set an example for our younger generations and keep the memories of those we have lost alive.
In 2001, a monument was constructed in honor of those that lost their lives on September 11, pictured above. Situated near the RCS middle school, the monument is a tribute to those who lost their lives and stands as a reminder of the events that unfolded that day.
We will continue to remember those who were killed or injured as a result of 9/11, the first responders who put their lives on the line that day and continue to every day for the greater good of others, and our service people who selflessly fought and continue to fight for our continued freedom at home and far away. Despite our shared grief in the aftermath of 9/11, hope, resilience, and unity lifted us up as a nation, demonstrated by those who put our nation, who put America, before themselves.
Today and every day, we remember, we honor, and we pay tribute, but we will never forget the ultimate sacrifice made by so many. You can view a complete list of those who lost their lives here.
RCS will never forget.
