RCS is excited to announce we have selected our new Assistant Director of Student Support Services, Kate Thibault. She will be taking over for Colleen Agostinoni, our new Director of Student Support Services, after our current director, Ann Jackson, retires in November. Ms. Thibault has worked for the district for over 20 years in several roles, including special education teacher, elementary classroom teacher, and instructional coach in project-based learning.
Although she is not starting until October 1, Ms. Thibault is very excited about her new role, saying, “I am proud to be a part of RCS. I think it is a great place to be. I feel constantly invited to grow as a professional. I am honored to have the opportunity to continue working with RCS staff, families, and students in this new role.”
A capital district native, Ms. Thibault is well versed in our community. She enjoys being active and spending time outside with her family and friends hiking, kayaking, and biking. She spent some of her summer working on her long-term goal to hike the 46 high peaks in New York State and is over halfway there. She also secured funding for a Pollinator Garden this summer that will be coming to A.W. Becker Elementary school this year.
“We are thrilled for Ms.Thibault to continue her journey with us here at RCS,” superintendent Dr. Brian Bailey said. “Having contributed so much to our school community for so many years, we know she will excel at assisting our students in achieving their goals both during and after their time at RCS.”
When asked about what advice she had for students, Ms. Thibault said, “Find something you love and dive into it, learn as much as you can, and give it your all. You can achieve anything you want to.”
