You are cordially invited to attend an informational night about recognition planning for the Class of 2021. This virtual meeting will be hosted by district leaders, the senior class advisors, and the students who serve on our senior advisory panel. This WebEx event will occur from 6:30 to 7:30 PM on Thursday, March 18th. During this meeting, our panelists will share the celebration and recognition plans to date. Families will have an opportunity to contribute as we solidify ways to best acknowledge the accomplishments of the Class of 2021.
As a reminder, all of our planning to date has been focused on addressing the needs of our students while adhering to the guidelines set forth by the governor, New York State Education Department, and the Department of Health. Please follow this link for an up to date listing of our plans. This Class of 2021 webpage highlights the accomplishments of our seniors and will be updated on a regular basis. There are also some amazing success stories and a senior spotlight section where each and every one of our seniors will be celebrated. Parents are asked to submit pictures for posting.

COVID-19 School Reopening Guidance, 20-21
It is important to remember that public school districts in New York State not only answer to the executive orders of Governor Andrew Cuomo but are also required to answer to the New York State Education Department and both state and local Departments of Health. The governor’s public announcements about various aspects of public interest are sometimes applicable to schools and sometimes they are not. Mandates and regulations set forth by other governing agencies may remain in effect. Here are some of the large-scale resources that public schools are required to follow during the pandemic:
NYS Education Department Handbook on Reopening: Recovering, Rebuilding, and Renewing
Other Required New York State Education Department Guidance from 20-21
NYS Gov Guidelines for In-Person Instruction
Albany County Department of Health, Classroom Updates Feb 2021
We expect additional/updated guidance from the above-listed agencies on state testing, proms, graduations and other school functions within the next few weeks.
