The RCS High School Music Department kicked off the 2024-2025 school year with a Fall concert featuring performances by both the High School Chorus and Band. The evening began with the Class of 2025 seniors delivering an a cappella rendition of the "Star-Spangled Banner," starting the event on a high note. Following this, the High School Chorus performed a three-song set, including a beautiful piece by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, which was accompanied by the district’s new electric organ generously donated by Nicole Rice and her family.
In a highlight of the evening, the Music Department proudly inducted nine new members into the Tri-M Music Honor Society. This esteemed recognition honors students who exemplify commitment to music, music education, and community service. The induction ceremony was conducted by senior members of the RCS Tri-M Chapter, who warmly welcomed the new inductees.
The concert concluded with a lively performance by the High School Band, which also showcased three pieces, including a fun arrangement of "Sesame Street Celebration" by Michael Brown, delighting the audience and bringing smiles all around.
