It has come to the District’s attention that photos have been circulating on social media that imply an American Flag was being disrespected in an RCS classroom by being rolled up and placed in a box. The flag in the photo was damaged and set aside to be decommissioned properly. Although there is a new flag hanging on the wall of the classroom, the photographer failed to include that in the photos that were shared on social media.
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District properly displays the American flag in areas of student assembly and follows the proper protocols when discommissioning any damaged flags.
