Dear 8th Graders & Families,
Due to the predicted weather conditions, adjustments to the 8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony on Friday, June 21, have been made. Please closely read these updates.
New Location: RCS High School Auditorium. Due to the location change, we are asking for families to limit their attendees to 5 people (not including your 8th-grade student) so all families may view the evening’s program. There will be additional overflow seating in the High School chorus room where the program will be streamed onto a big screen for guests. This event will also be live-streamed via our YouTube page if there are family members who are out of the area or would like to watch the ceremony from the comfort of their own homes.
Doors Open at 6:00 p.m.
Please have students there no later than 6:15 p.m. and they should report directly to the staging area which is located in the High School auxiliary gym.
There will be no reserved seats for this event. Please let someone know if you need accessible seating.
Please do not bring balloons or balloon bouquets to the Moving Up Ceremony for your student. Balloons limit visibility to those around you and if balloons get loose it may set off the fire alarm. Flowers are fine.
Standing on the sides or the back of the auditorium during the ceremony will not be allowed. The aisles must remain clear in case of an emergency. There will be additional overflow seating in the High School chorus room, across the hall from the auditorium, where the program will be streamed onto a big screen for guests.
Refreshments will be served in the high school cafeteria following the ceremony.
The event will be live-streamed via our YouTube page*.
*Please note that the stream will not begin until 6:25 p.m.
