RCS Middle School is proud to announce the outstanding performance of its students in this year's Stock Market Game Regional Competition. Carter Bullock, an eighth-grade student and member of the Stock Market Club, won this year's Stock Market Game Regional Competition, coming in first out of 75 regional teams. "Carter moved into first place over the last two months of the competition and never looked back," said Stock Market Club advisor Erin Sawyer.
The Stock Market Game is an online simulation of the global capital markets that engages students in grades 4-12 in economics, investing, and personal finance. The game's goal is to prepare students for financially independent futures. Players compete in their age brackets on multiple levels regionally, statewide, and nationally throughout the school year.
RCS Middle School has participated in the Stock Market Game since the establishment of its Stock Market Club in 2022. Under the guidance of Ms. Sawyer and Ms. Kemmer, club members engage in discussions about the fundamental principles of the stock market and its influence on the regional economy. The club gives middle school students an opportunity to learn and ask questions about personal finances and basic stock market principles.
In addition to Carter's success, three other students from RCS Middle School also achieved commendable results in this year's game. Carter Castagna, Annabella Marvelli, and Nate Appleby finished in the Top 20 of the regional competition!
