This week is School Board Recognition Week, and the RCS School District is joining all public school districts across the state in celebrating local school board members for their hard work and dedication to their districts and children. This week is an opportunity to raise community awareness, and understanding of the important work school board members have within a school district.
A School Board is an essential part of all school districts in New York. This unpaid position requires members to wear many important hats. Their decisions affect your child, your child’s future, your tax rate, and the well-being of the community. Our Board works hard to ensure our community is heard and supports a healthy school district culture in which to work and learn. The Board develops a shared vision and goals for our district and ensures the strategies, resources, policies, and programs align with the district's goals. All of these efforts allow for the continuous improvement of our district.
The RCS School District wants to say a big THANK YOU to our Board of Education members for their commitment to our school community and children. The RCS School District Board of Education consists of eight members, Michael Deyo, President, Edward Bedinotti, Vice President, Kristin Hill-Burns, Mike Coyne, Bray Engel, Jackie Kalney, Jennifer Molino, and Peter Ross. You can learn more about our Board members by visiting the Board of Education Homepage on our website.
