Battles of ingenuity and engineering will be on display at a First Tech Challenge robotics competition at the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School, on Thursday, June 8, at 6:30 p.m.
Our home team, known competitively as the Ravena Rattlesnakes, consists of RCS students ranging from 8th to 12th grade from both the middle and high schools.
The team launched into competition during its first season in 2018. They fell just short of regional play last year after finishing in fifth place at the Excelsior Qualifier.
The team is coached by two middle school math and technology teachers, Steve Schultz and Jared Bevington. Three co-captains lead the charge from the competitive field, Nick Cifone, Elizabeth Robertson and Maximillian May; all seniors.
Team members include Justin Castillo, Sydney Campbell, Nina Kozlowski, Max Deyoe, Riley Rinella, Sonia Snyder, and Sulamita Voronko.
