Please visit our timeline for dates for each step of this process. The following is an overview of the Superintendent Search process. Please visit our other corresponding webpages to learn about the Confidential Search and the Candidate Invitation.
First Step: Community Feedback
The first step in finding the next school leader is to gather community feedback via an online survey and a series of focus groups held during the month of February.
A brief, anonymous survey was made public to seek input about what characteristics and skills are desired of the next superintendent. The survey was for all members of the greater school community, including students, parents, staff, and residents. The survey has concluded.
Focus Groups: RCS Board of Education invited stakeholders to attend superintendent search focus groups to give input on the next school leader. All members of the school community were encouraged to attend. Focus Groups have concluded.
Feedback from the survey and focus groups will inform interview questions.
Next Step: Candidate Invitation
The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District Board of Education is seeking an experienced, forward-focused leader to inspire success in a safe and supportive learning environment.
RCS’s next superintendent will be a visible and approachable relationship-builder who values the strengths and contributions of all members of the school community - understanding the district’s unique challenges and opportunities to push beyond current standards and strive for new levels of growth and achievement.
Visit Candidate Invitation - Superintendent of Schools for more details. The invitation to apply went live the week of March 3, 2025, with a deadline of April 2, 2025.
