Board Members
The Board of Education is made up of nine members who are elected by qualified voters of the district. All board members run “at large” in the district and serve without pay for three-year terms.
Member Profiles of RCS Board of Education:
Michael Deyo, President
Mr. Deyo and his wife Amanda currently reside in Selkirk with their three children who attend RCS, Madison, Emma, and Lily. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economic Crime Investigation from Utica College, as well as a Juris Doctor Degree from Albany Law School.
He currently works as a Deputy Counsel for the New York State Police and is responsible for providing legal advice on a broad range of operational and policy issues. He is also a soccer coach for the RCS Soccer Club.
Edward Bedinotti, Vice President
Mr. Bedinotti and his wife, Lisa, live in Selkirk and have two children who are students of the district, Grace, and Ryan. He is currently the President and Chief Appraiser at Bedinotti Associates, Inc. and holds an Associate of Science Degree from Hudson Valley Community College, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Literature and Rhetoric from SUNY Binghamton. He also holds a Senior Appraiser Designation from the American Society of Appraisers.
He has been active with the RCS Soccer Club as a Board Member and as a coach for many years. Additionally, he served on various committees of The New York State Association of Realtors.
Daniel Baker
Daniel and his wife Aimme live in Ravena with their two children, Isla and Dannie, who attend RCS. Daniel is a graduate of RCS and currently serves as the Town of Coeymans Highway Superintendent. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of 51 miles of roads and managing a team of 9 employees.
He is active in the community volunteering for the RCS Youth Basketball Program and a member of RC Sportsman Club.
Michael Coyne
Mr. Coyne and his wife, Judy, live in Glenmont and currently have four children who are students of the district; Nicholas, Juliana, Austin, and Timothy. He is a retired New York State Law Enforcement Lieutenant/Watch Commander from the State Department of Correctional Services. He had attended Columbia-Greene Community College, where he studied business administration.
Mr. Coyne previously served as a member of the Cairo-Durham Board of Education and as a member of the Greene County Legislature. His community work includes helping establish Greene County Pop Warner Football as a commissioner.
Jacqueline Kalney
Jackie and her husband, Russell, reside in Coeymans with their two children who attend RCS, Gabe and Oliver. Jackie is a graduate of Coxsackie-Athens and Siena College, with bachelor’s degree in English. She has worked for the State of New York for over 15 years and currently works for the New York State Office of Victim Services.
She has been a class mom for multiple years, is active in the victim services community, and fosters cats/kittens as a volunteer with Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
Matthew Miller
Matthew and his wife, Karen reside in Selkirk and have two adult children both graduates of RCS, Nicole and Christopher. Matthew received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from SUNY Oneonta and a master’s degree in Biology Education from the University at Albany.
Matthew is a retired Biology teacher who taught at RCS for 30 years. Currently, he serves as a member of the Albany County Legislator for the 36th District. He is also the acting treasurer of the RCS Sports Association and is involved with the Bethlehem Grange #137 and Sons of American Legion.
Jennifer Molino
Ms. Molino resides in Selkirk with her husband Brian and their two children who attend RCS, Kirsten, and Evan. A Bethlehem Central graduate, she holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Education from SUNY New Paltz. She currently works as a Special Education preschool teacher with Capital District Beginnings.
She was the President of the AWB PTA for two years and is completing her second year as secretary. She is also an active member of the MS PTSO, as well as the District Communications Committee. Ms. Molino teaches Sunday School for 4th and 5th students at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she is an active member.
Melanie Potter
Melanie and her husband, Scott reside in Ravena and have three sons, Alex, who graduated from RCS, and Kaden and Jeiah, who are current students at RCS. Melanie graduated from RCS and received a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Special Education from Marist College and her master's in Special Education from the College of Saint Rose.
She has been an active member of Parent Teacher Organizations such as PBC PTO and RCS MS PTSO for over 13 years and, has volunteered on District committees like the High School Building Leadership Team and RCS Communication Committee.
Peter Ross
Ross is a resident of Feura Bush, where he lives with his wife and three children. He works as a teacher of technology education in the Averill Park Central School District. He is a graduate of Shaker High School, has a B.S. from Oswego State University, and a masters in education from Walden University.
