About RCS High School

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Senior High School is a four year public school located 12 miles south of Albany, New York, the capital of New York State. The school was dedicated in 1961 as a Junior-Senior High School housing grades 7-12 until the RCS Middle School was built for grades 6, 7, and 8 (located across the parking lot).

Today the school is home to close to 600 students in grades 9-12 with more than 70 faculty and staff members committed to the education of students for 21st century career and college ready skills. Traditionally nearly 78% of the school’s graduates attend two- and four-year colleges following graduation, earning nearly $70,000 annually in locally funded scholarships and grants. More than a third of the graduating class earns Advanced Regents Diplomas and many students are enrolled in Advanced Placement, University in the High School and College in the High School courses during their high school years.

Early Dismissal Schedule

Bus Passes

Students may occasionally ride a bus other than their own. Parents must provide a written note or confirm the request by phone call to the school’s main office no later than 12 p.m. on the day of change. The main office will provide the student with a pass, and students are required to give the driver a pass to board the bus.
